Self Defense: Reality Training

Self Defense: Reality Training

Real self-defense situations can happen anywhere.

Rolling on a mat, working for a grip or lock to gain a sport-legal submission is drastically different than a sudden ambush by multiple attackers on hard pavement. There are no rules and there is no referee to stop the action when someone pulls a weapon or you are subject to concrete, broken glass, debris, low-light, and a second or third attacker.

The simple truth is that real-world violence rarely happens in a vacuum. It often involves multiple threats. Krav Maga defensive tactics were built for the military and law enforcement agencies for immediate control and survival. There are no concerns or interests in scoring points, earning belts, or weight classes.

The primary rules are to eliminate the threat and escape. That means staying on your feet and striking explosively. With Krav Maga, students learn effective ground techniques that are coupled with how to get up from the ground as quickly and safely as possible.

As a self-defense system, Krav Maga targets areas that a sport athlete isn’t allowed to touch—eyes, throat, and groin strikes. Krav incorporates training where students learn how to defend against knives, sticks, and firearms.

Krav Maga builds upon the human body’s natural stress reflexes to develop life-saving skills. Krav Maga is not about playing according to rules. It is about survival when things go sideways.

Don’t get caught playing a sport in a street fight. Train a system of self-defense to avoid conflict when possible; and to protect and survive when a threat is imminent and unavoidable.
