Leadership Program

Taekwondo Martial Arts Leadership Training

Membership in the Leadership Program is by instructor invitation only. Those who participate are chosen as role models for the students at Makowski’s Martial Arts & Fitness.

Each Leadership Club member pursues an intensive Instructor Trainee course. Physical taekwondo skills must be mastered and the techniques required to teach this material must be developed and refined. Certification in CPR and Youth Protection is required of every adult Leadership Club member.Leadership Team meets weekly for instruction in teaching methods, interpersonal interaction, physical skills, and a wide range of other leadership material.

S.W.A.T. – This is our Special Winning Attitude Team. To participate, a student (at any belt color) must commit to serve as a role model and instructor assistant with some frequency during a testing cycle. Their responsibility is to lead by example and to demonstrate the leadership behavior, character, and motivation of a black belt.

DELTA – The DELTA Program is a select group of students who have progressed from the S.W.A.T. Program and desire to continue to lead by example, and to demonstrate the leadership behavior, character, and motivation of a black belt by volunteering as a role model and instructor assistant more frequently. These students must commit to provide assistance according to an agreed upon schedule and should be members or be preparing to join the Black Belt Club.

Junior Trainee Instructor Leadership Program

This program builds future leaders for a better tomorrow. The program was developed to prepare children, ages 8-15, for the Trainee Instructor Program. The program serves to increase interest, challenge the student, and to provide a broader outlook for the students to draw upon. Those who participate are chosen to serve as role models for other students. The student wears a red/white/blue Junior Leader collar and will be assigned responsibilities, i.e., assisting at testing/promotions and lower rank classes for Tiny Tigers and Karate Kids.

Trainee Instructor Leadership Program

This program was developed to prepare a student, age 16 and above, for instructor certification. Trainee instructors enjoy teaching others and may be interested in a career in the martial arts. The program serves to increase interest, challenge the student, and to provide a solid foundation for the students toward training and preparation for the multiple levels required to achieve Certified Instructor status. The student wears a red Trainee Instructor Leader collar and will be assigned responsibilities, i.e., assisting at testings/promotions and lower rank classes for Tiny Tigers, Karate Kids, and adults.

NOTE: To participate in competitions to achieve State Championships, students must be enrolled in the Leadership Program.
